Steel Day 2009

steellday

Steel Day 2009, hosted by B&B Welding Company, Inc. was a huge success. The event, celebrated nationally by partners in the structural steel fabrication industry, was attended by more than 125 people, including architects, engineers, students, contractors, and local neighbors. They came to our facility to witness steel being fabricated from start to finish.

More importantly for the structural steel industry was the unveiling of the receipt of material heat numbers, and associated material certifications, through the ASN (Advanced Shipping Notice) by scanning mill applied bar codes. Two of our software partners, P2 Programs and Fabsuite, demonstrated the fruits of their efforts to advance an AISC initiative dating back to the early 2000’s. We thank them for their efforts to improve the seamless transfer of data between all the partners of the steel building delivery team.

For the occasion we fabricated decorative tables and displayed the Christmas Trees fabricated and installed annually for the Main Street Lighting of Historic Dundalk, MD. Spit cooked pig, pit ham, pit beef and turkey was served to all who attended.
