Using the original 1950’s drawings, B&B fabricated new structural support steel (4 tower assemblies fabricated with beams, channel angles and plate) and also repaired the Trunion gears that raise and lower the draw portion of the bridge.Each tower required 3,254 A325 bolts for assembly. McLean Construction reported that out of 13,000 plus bolt holes, all lined up except for 3, and they only had to be reamed out by 1/8 inch.
