Frank Horney
Been with B&B Since Dec 1991

Frank Horney is the beam meister. He mans the BPL 1000, the beam punch line. And he’s a busy man — beam and column jobs make up a large chunk of B&B’s business. Frank inputs the computer specs, cuts the beams with the 40 inch saw, runs the beams through the puncher and copes beams at the end-he’s pretty much a one man beam machine. Frank is also part of the B&B Quality Control team. “We belong to AISC,” he says. That means we quality check in material before it gets welded and shipped out the door. We have to make sure everything we do is right up to snuff. Up to code.” Says Frank, “Sometimes I measure three times before I cut.” Frank’s worked thirty years welding and fabricating steel, and in all those years, he’s never worked at a shop that took such pride in quality control. That’s one of the reasons he’s put in eighteen years at B&B. When it comes to fishing, Frank’s the black sheep of B&B. “Let the guys go fishing,” he says. “I’m not a fisherman. I take my vacation during the July 4th weekend. I do something around my house.”
